Ok, I know this sounds stupid, but twice in 5 months the hitch unit attached to my TV has drooped. Specifically the ball and receiver part that attaches to the bracket unit that slides into my TV receiver. The washers that came with the hitch, apparently are not the "locking" variety . I wonder if anyone else has experienced this problems and is there reason not to use the locking kind. Not sure why it's "drooping" no one standing on it etc. Any light on this issue would be appreciated. I hope this makes sense.

Did you install the washers on the pin and tighten the set bolt? Most times about six washers.

unless I'm reading this wrong (which I probably am), you're saying that the shank is square in the receiver (which it should be), but the head is angled down towards the rear? It's supposed to be that way. The hitch head should not be level. The two bolts that hold the head to the draw bar have one bottom that's round, the one on top is oblong so it can tilt down.

I just helped a camper this weekend with the same issue. His hitch head was really angled down. I asked him if he was using 8 washers and he said only 5. I looked at it and the 5 washers were about 1/2" off the shank. He said when he hooks the bars up the washers and head go back and he thought all was good.
I thought about and saw him the next day and told him I think I needed to help him adjust it. I had the tools so he drove over and we loosened the shankd bolts, pushed the head back so the washers laid against the shank and snugged up the bolts. Then I tightened the set screw which prior was just thread in the hole and never tightened down. He was good to go now. I'm surprised it had never broken. I think you have the same issue.

Ok the hitch is drooping on the Shank. The bolts used to attach the hitch on the shank are not holding. Thus the hitch, droops and does not sit straight on the shank. Does that help?

Jeremy it was new in the box. No lock washers were used by dealer, that does not mean they were not in the box. Another thing to discuss in the morning . Thanks

Also one other thing to note, did you buy the hitch new or used? Regardless, the two big arse bolts that hold the head to the shank should have both flat washers and lock washers on it. I've had 2 Equal-i-zer hitches and both had lock washers in addition to flat washers on both sides of the head. If yours doesn't have lock washers, get some from the hardware store.

Yeah I would check the bottom set screw to make sure that's snug and that will lock the head in the angled position against the washers.
