Yes there is rain and sometimes mosquitoes and flies BUT this is still an enchanting place to visit with many surprises. We are in northern portion and today have seen a moose - up close - and driven thru several fishing villages and watched icebers from all sorts of vantage points.

Still the best part are the locals. Today we met a woman showing her hometown to visiting friends, two men both trying to get photos of the icebergs, and a young boy selling socks his mom knitted WHO ALLtook time to say hello and chat with us as we watched the icebergs. They seem to really enjoy their homeland and want to share it with us.

Will try to share a few photos.

Nice. I see some subjects for my oil painting hobby.

Met a local this morning at the St. Anthony lighthouse. He said (as we looked at the huge icebergs offshore) that these were the largest icebergs he had ever seen and he had lived here all his life!

P.S. I know these are not very good/clear photos but they are the best I could get.

My wife and I have been RVing for many years and over 200,000 miles. We both agree that the Newfoundland trip was our favorite.

We just got back from touring Newfoundland for three weeks. One of our favorite places was the Fogo Islands, especially the town of Tilting. In fact, any of the peninsula's on the northern side are great for views, and of course talking to the local Newfies. Enjoy.

bfacklam, I guess you know that Fogo Island is one of the four corners of the world! We were there several years ago and camped at the local ballpark. Some man walked by and started talking to us and then sent his uncle over. The uncle stayed several hours and my husband and I did not understand a single word he said!
