I bought FRP panels at Home Depot to replace my shower walls during my bathroom remodel a couple weeks ago.

These panels are not smooth. They have a textured, bumpy side, like you usually see in public restrooms. The other side is much smoother but not as smooth as the outer skin on a motorhome or camper. It would be more of an unfinished side than a smooth side.

Thanks,
Brian

I have searched all the local shops with no luck. I got a distributer list from one company online so need to call them monday for pricing. If I can't find it I'll try to reuse the old piece. It will be more work, but may be better off anyway.

If you can clean up your old filon siding and reuse it you would be better off, with shipping and the tube which the filon needs to be shipped in adds up. I, just finished rebuilding my tc back wall. I reused mine... here's a link. http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/25252945.cfm

OK. So I have a 2006 Fleetwood Wilderness. On our trip to Charlotte this spring the first 4 feet of fiberglass wall blew off. After many discussions with the insurance company, we got a settlement. Fleetwood is no longer in business and insurance did not settle to an amount to get it repaired by a shop. So I plan to look over the repair myself. The fiberglass portion I am not worried about as I did auto body for 10 years. What bothers me is the underneath between. It appear to be a luan screwed and glues to the frame. Has anyone worked on these issues prior ? Im looking for a good adheasive to hold the fiberglass back to the plywood after I get that fixed.

4 feet of wall blew off? Really? Never heard of that.

I had a delamination problem with my 2002 Keystone Sprinter. To secure the outside fiberglass to the luan(?), I used a 3M product in a spray can called Hi-Strength 90 Spray Adhesive. The background color of the label on the spray can was green. I bought the product either in Lowes Home Imp. or Home Depot. It worked very well. Caution, when you bond the two materials, make sure it is correct. Very difficult to impossible to reposition the bond.

I pulled the filon off the bottom rear of our unit when I found that panel had rotten wood under it. The stuff came off easily and after cleaning it up and creating a new panel out of redwood and cement board siding, I glued it back on with Liquid Nails outdoor adhesive. It worked fine and didn't show through although it was the consistency of caulk. Now I have to figure out how to do one side that has since started delaminating. It will be more difficult because the propane hatch is on that side.

Thanks Guys. I'll go look at the local home improvement stores. I really wanted to use the old FRP but it was pretty destroyed. I'm guessing blowing off the camper at 70 MPH on the interstate did not help. I was fortunate enough to find a RV shop in town that had some surplus from a repair. I got 5' for about the price i was going to get 2' shipped to me. So now I just need to get the adheasive. Then need to find something good to seal the seams. Ordered some Sikaflex online, but it is more like silicone than the original stuff. I plan to hit the RV shop again this week.

Nice job on the unit. I am scared to see just another Fleetwod camper with this issue. I really want to keep the 5th wheel as its exactly what we want, but hav seen and been told about at least a dozen Fleetwoods with this issue since working on ours....
