Thanks for the trip report Kohldad. Living in NC I still can get enough of the Smokey Mountains. And all the years of driving a 18 wheeler thru the I-40 (The Gorge) looking up in the mountains I finally have a view of the road below. Something I have added to my bucket list. Thanks Donnie
Great Smokey Mountains, Batman. That sure is a nice trip report. It's a shame you started to feel lousy on the road, but good for you for sticking it out. I'll bet that country greens up real pretty come May and June - look like a nice place to visit.

Yes, those winter-like pics were painful to me, being's as how it's July and all, but I'll forgive you this time.
Hi Kohldad ! Always fun seeing where you are going next. I hope to do some exploring that way in 2013 and am taking lots of notes. As for the snow pictures . . . well it is 107 here today and those pictures sure feel good, right about now.
Hope you are mending well, Sleepy, and you are right, your TC friends are really good company.
You've gotta' watch those good by kisses. But I'm the weirdo who actually like winter and those secluded evergreen shaded campgrounds look like quiet moments with the aroma of hot coffee and great memories.
You got some nice photos on your trip. The view from Clingman's Dome looks strange with all those dead snags in place of the beautiful trees that used to form an unbroken blanket on the mountains there. Things are a changing but there's still plenty of beauty to be found in those old mountains!
Thanks for allowing us to take the trip with you. So many people that live within 5 or 6 hours of all that. Over look it going other places that would not have near as much if they only look.
