What a blessing it would be to have room for a long arm. Wont fit in our MH.

Our state historical society is traveling around documenting pre-1970 quilts made by state residents while living in the state. I took 3 (the limit per person) family quilts to be documented & it was most interesting to see what the others brought in. Our church makes & gives a dorm quilt to every high school graduate who belongs to our congregation. We've had as many as 9 in a year, but 3 or 4 is more normal. They are simple 8" squares and the quilt is tied.

I just started a new one for myself - the first one for me. This one has Alaska Theme fabric. I finished the 2nd one for my sister and will send it out tomorrow. The third will be complete but that one is for my friend in NY. My brother is the next one. His will be similar to mine. MY DS got the first. Probably the most frustrating one.

I too want to try long arm quilting. I think there is a place near here where you can train on them and rent time on the machines. Perhaps next summer I will do that.

This winter I will finish all those UFOs and be ready to start something new for spring.

Our hobbies, and subsequent space requirements, is one main reason we quit fulltiming. But, even in a foundation house you can run out of room. This large quilting machine ended up in our bedroom because it would not fit in the sewing room:

We could get a trailer to pull to house one. A very long trailer. We have the MH, the TC, and we can carry that and the hobby stuff with us when we move from place to place. I just have to convince DH.
