I'm rather proud of these mods.

Frist is my cable wobbel stopper.

I replaced the lowest jack bolt with an eye bolt then frabricated cables and S hooks to connect them.
Works well with camper off truck.
However the cables must be removed to load the camper.

Next I must give credit to "sleepy" as he gave me the idea of using Unistrut. He used it for repairing sag under his slide as I remember.
My camper dosen't have a slide but my hold down runs right across the fuel door making fueling harder.
Using Unistrut I can move the hold down mounting point aft untill it clears the fuel door. Note hole dirlled in Unistrut.

The Unistrut is held on using the same mounting bolts that hold the hold down tabs on my Lance. Unistrut is 8 feet long.

Next a light came on and I had these made at a local welding shop.
No welding but they could bend 1/4 inch thick steel plate and cut it to size for me. Just as they came from the welding shop.
Notice the old Lance tie down tabs on my bench, Unistrut replaced them. Also my cardboard pattern.

Here they are painted (the only color I had) and installed. Will be painted white in the future.

Note the fuel door clears without removing the Fast Gun.
One of my last tie downs in still in Los Angeles because I forgot it after refueling.

This picture shows how they are mounted to the Unisrtut. Bolts and Unistrut T nuts.

Here is the camper off the truck. Don't need the cable wobble stoppers any more.
Plus I don't think the jack mounting lags will elongate there holes anymore.

One more idea. Look at this picture. Release the Fast Gun swivel it up alongside the Unistrut drill a hole just a little aft of the bottom anchor point. Install the Fast Gun in both holes. Then you could store the fast gun right on the Unistrut. Could even be locked.
Sorry I haven't done it yet so a little imagination is required.

Will try to answer any questions.

Finaly finished mods, here are more pictures.
Fast Guns holding the camper on. Notice the locks.

Fast Guns in storage position. Notice they still can be locked.

Close up showing holes in unistrut to hold Fast Gun in storage position.

Repainted the guessets white. At this point I don't think I will paint the unistrut. Added another clamp to the guessets because it looks better.

Very happy with the mods so far!

Great ideas and workmanship. Your jacks are not going to fold like that.

I like innovation.
I like the front jack angle gusseting.
I’m not certain the side to side sway in front is handled as well by these as for instance your original crossed cables or the Tork Lift brace things they are making for side sway when free standing now. It looks like your front to back is very strong now.
Good thinking and job.

Nice job.

I also like your thinking and inovation.
But keep the cables, while the new brackets and unistrut add lots of for/aft strength, they add little sideways when compared to the cables.

And did I say I really like those cables.
I need to make a set for mine.

Thanks for posting,
Dan
