I'm looking for a Class B unit that will accommodate 3 adults for sleeping. Some of the specifications that I have seen state 22" for the width of each bed across the front 4 seats which is too narrow. Any suggestions? I'm hoping to find something in a Class B rather than a Class C.

For those who have talked about sleeping in the front seats converted to beds, the comment usually is that for a child it is OK but an adult will find it more comfortable on the floor in a sleeping bag. In the Roadtrek and other Class B's, the front seat swivels back and is joined with a seat behind with a pad that fills in the gap. There can be homemade mods that will make this wider and more comfortable, but you need to be creative and able to do a bit of foldaway construction.

I don't know for sure but I'm sure someone will step in with the facts, I thought Roadtrek can have a bed in the back and another single bed made from the seats. Also check out www.sportsmobile.com With them you can design your own floor plan (as long as it is feasable)

Sportsmobile has a number of designs that will sleep more than 2 people.

We've slept three on the fold down sofa using sleep sacks. Plenty of room. Did it for eight days.
Some will have a problem with the idea of three adults in the same bed but it's no different from three people in sleeping bags on the floor of a tent.
And as Shearwater said, Sportsmobile can build to your design if sleeping three is a critical requirement.

The Airstream Sprinter Westfalia will sleep 3 or 4 adults. They sold them briefly so you can only buy used if you can find one.

Our 1996 RT V-190 will sleep three short and very friendly adults. The double bed is in the back. The front passenger seat turns to the side and the back passenger seat slides out to join it. I put a pad on top of it. It is passable but not great. We had a "71 VW van that had a double bed up,a double bed down, and a kind of hammock that swung across the seats in the front. Strictly for a small child. This is very cozy camping. lizzie

I was thinking about this thread today when I stopped at a garage sale and saw a home made head board. It is made of very sturdy plywood and is padded very well. I thought it would be worth the 10 dollar gamble.
Here are my two seats behind the front seats folded down.
Here is the padded board on top of them. I would plan on putting a sleeping bag or air mattress over it for more padding. Worth a try!
