FLorida to Indiana!
We searched the southeast for what we wanted, but not that many to be found down in Florida.
My wifes family is in Michigan, so we ordered our Palomino from the factory (Indiana) and just drove up to visit and picked it up while "in the area".
Added benefit was that we had it made-to-order with a few options we wanted. And, saved on the shipping costs.
We traveled 1,600 miles from Santa Rosa Beach, Florida to Longmont, Colorado, in May to order our new Outfitter truck camper. We will make the same trip again in September when we go to pick up the camper.
So, I guess that means by the time we are done, we will have traveled a total of 6,400 miles to get our new truck camper.

I left about 3 pm and decided I didn't need to fill up the gas tank before making the 5 mile journey over to my Arctic Fox dealer. I know it was a very risky decision with the 454 GMC that I use to have but I made it . My PDI was scheduled at 4 pm but I just wanted to hang out with my new TC for a while.
It was a horrible trip as I hit every red light on the way but I think I still made it in less than 15 min. After parting with my check (largest one I ever wrote), loading the camper and doing the PDI I was on my way. I took it slower going home getting use to the feel of all the weight. It was about 5:30 pm when I pulled into the driveway with around 10 miles round trip .
What a tough day!!! I was so exhausted by all the excitement, hard work and travel that I just relaxed in the camper the rest of the evening.
I suppose this takes me out of the running for any prize of having the longest trip so I guess I will just have to be happy that I didn't have to go through the travels and expense some of you did. It looks like some of you turned it into first camping and sight seeing experiences while out getting your new campers, great idea rather than just driving and driving. I commend those of you who drove thousands of miles for your campers. I would have done a longer trip for my camper if I had to but I am thankful to live so close to such a great Arctic Fox dealership.
Lets see, if I don't round trip it and count all of the traffic lights (6)? 21 miles (US 36, southeast from Boulder to, I 25, south to I 70, west to Kipling Exit).
I found mine on Craigslist in Maine, about 280 miles from me. It ended up being about a 5 hour drive each way. My brother and I made a day trip out of it.
Not too bad compared to some of you!
