Im not sure if I have enough belts on my AC Compressor. It has 2 grooves but I only have the belt closest to the compressor. It squeals while the compressor is engaged but am not sure if it is tight enough or needs a belt on the outer pulley. Am I missing a belt?

A squealing belt indicates that it is either too loose or that maybe some oil or coolant is on the pulley causing it to slip. Also, dpending on the size of the belt that you have on there, if it is too small that could also be your problem. The design probably requires both belts or GM wouldn't have built it that way.

I have a 1990 P-30, 454. If memory serves there is just one belt on there. If I wait till I'm running 65 and turn the AC on it sometimes squeeks. If I turn it on at idle it seems like it doesn't. Go figure? This time of year I run the generator and the roof AC. The dash AC does little to keep the RV cool on 100 degree days. In fact, when it's really hot. I run both and it still stays warmer than I would like. It's a lot of space to cool down. Especially if it's been sitting in the sun and is good and hot before I start. This time of year we try to get or traveling out of the way before it gets too hot out.

I'm with you I think it is only one also. I talked to some local knowledgeable people and they agree. I just need to tighten. It some. I havent had my generator running since I bought her. I know the muffler is broken off of it. It would be ok to run while moving but I'm sure it would be loud as Hell. Plus I'm sure it would eat a lot of fuel? Do you know how much mpg's you get just running with no gen.?

On average the Onan 4000 uses like, .6 gallons an hour (depends on how hard it's working). That's not bad at all in my book and has little impact on overall gas mileage considering that when I'm pulling my toad I get 9.5 mpg (average). I would get that muffler fixed and run that sucker. I've never had to deal with this but, I have a muffler guy that can fix anything exhaust related. I'll bet a local muffler shop could build you a muffler, and install it, cheaper than you could buy a new one. In this heat the dash air wont accomplish much without help from the roof air.

3x of only being one belt on our 1992 P30. Sometimes gets a squeal on start up in hot temps. Have gotten on start up and had to turn off the AC and try in a couple minutes. We redid our dash AC in the drive by flushing the evaporator and condenser, replacing the dryer and trinary switch and removing and replacing R-12 O rings with green ones for R-134a. Not sure they help but were only $10 and I was already taking things apart.
It cools really well and over time will put out 42F air temp. We turn it off if outside temps get 5F less than inside temps.

On my rig the A/C belt is also used on the power steering pump. There are 2 belts on the power steering pump. Make sure the belt on the PS pump that does not come up to the A/C is tight before you tighten the A/C belt. If not the A/C belt will be tight but the other belt on the PS pump will be loose. I found out the hard way.

remember that this arangement of the power source for the PS pump, is that the ps pump ALSO powers the hydroboster for the brakes soooooo if one belt fails (or its bearings) there is another power source (diferent) you are not left w/NO brakes!!!!

If you run the generator and roof air with the dash air off you may not notice much difference in fuel consumption. The 454 not having to turn a compressor will have less load and give a slight improvement in MPG.
