Returned from a trip last weekend. I set a half full case of bottled beer on the bed intending on securing it prior to leaving. Hit a MAJOR pothole on the freeway and when I got home, the entire case dumped over and 3 bottles of beer shattered all over the floor (carpeting).
Note to self: drink all beer before leaving to come home. lol

You guys are making me fell so good right now.
If I told you all the mistakes we have made you would probably tell me to sell the TT and quit.

Luckily I have limited my mistakes due to threads such as these. Thanks everyone!!! Here are a couple:
Left antenna up. Luckily a nice RVer flagged me down before we drove out of the CG.
Potentially MAJOR one: I had to take our first TT into the shop for some warranty work within the first couple months of owning it. Once I arrived at the shop (only about 5 miles away), I realized the hitch pin was not in the receiver! Luckily for me the chains were short enough to keep the hitch in the receiver when fully extended. That is one thing I always triple check before I leave every time now!

The first day I got my rig (not even registered or insured yet) I unhooked the awning leg to open the storage door behind it. Needless to say I forgot to re attach the awning leg (I did remember to close the storage door). I drove a mile down the freeway before I noticed. I pulled over to reattach it and a car with a mirror hanging off pulled over behind me. Apparently my awning leg took out her mirror. Fortunately the awning is fine and my insurance paid 300 and some change to fix the mirror so it didn't affect my rates. I now have "check awning legs" on my pre-flight checklist

Left the Flush King running on the gray tank until water came out of the door to get in the trailer.
Put a new battery in the trailer, by the way the white wire is never positinve in a trailer.
Backed into the tail pipe on the tow vehicel while it was running. The cresent moon scar on the back of my calf is still healing and I bet there is still some skin on the crome tail pipe cover.

We neglected to raise the rear stabilizers before jacking up the tongue to hitch up. The wheels were chocked with x-chock type chocks, but raising the tongue separated the axles enough to render them useless. The trailer rolled backward about 5 feet, bending the rear stabilizers enough that we had to replace them, and damaged the foot on the tongue jack. Other than that, no damage done, but a lesson was learned, for sure.

I had 2 that I can remember. When we first got our TT we stopped @ a service station to get fuel. When I started too leave I was looking @ the oncoming traffic, and not paying attention to the curb that was along a 4ft deep ditch.Started to pull out,and @ the last minute I noticed that the TT wheels were getting ready to go into the ditch.Had to get person behind me to back up so I could fix my mistake. The 2nd mistake was leaving the half door open while bending over to pull the lever to drain the tanks.I stood up.The ole head went right into the corner of that door!About knocked me out.Had to go too E/R and get 4 stitches.

Backing into my driveway and coming too close to the house, catching a window AC unit with the awning arm, breaking the window, the ac and the awning arm. Last time I used anyone other than the DW as a spotter.
Time's sure fun when you're having flies!

Emergency brake mess up on my 5W. I forgot that the cable on the Bargeman emergency brake should have some slack so when turning there remains enough cable to not pull out the pin. Well the pin pulled out but nothing happened! The emergency brake didn't activate because after investigating I noticed that the RV shop, Evergreen RV in Seattle, forgot to connect the brake power lead to the new battery I purchased from them. We were lucky to find out about this without having an emergency!

My biggest mistake was buying the first one in 1969. I got addicted quick and it has continued to this day.
