....I'm glad all those mentioned in the post before this one didn't need the bail out...Chrysler did, and we, being the type of nation that we are, pitched in and helped out...having lost two jobs, one with Ingersoll Rand after 13 yrs with them, (shut plant down), then again after almost 6 yrs with Hercules (govt. Contractor), I wouldn't want too many to have to go through what I did to pay bills and take care of my wife and three kids, (which I did, and never drew the first dollar of unemployment, food stamps, etc)....all that aside, I'd gladly toss some money somebody's way if it would help them keep their jobs....it's the American way...I don't hold that against them or the government..

Glad those others didn't need "bailed out"...government stepped up and did the right thing, like it or not....

IMHO, $4.234527687, is not a bad investment in order to keep part of the labor force employed. Unemployment would cost us much more.

I agree. Not bad at all. I paid more than that for a sandwich today.

johnrbd, McDonoughDawg, Skipnchar, Big Katuna, NC Hauler and Hannibal pretty much summed it up.

I would chalk this post up as a failed rant attempt.

If they really make, or made, $35.00 - $40.00 per hr plus $30.00 or more in health care and pension, they should have saved some money and they could live without a job for a few years

Was never a rant. Just an observation.

Too many can't see the forest for the trees. Just sport-flushing those out . . .

It does seem like a deal, but everything's relative.

I often kid with my wife that if I stood at the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National park and collected just a dime from everybody going in, just a dime, I'd be raking in a million dollars a year -- and who wouldn't pay a dime to get in?

Same with the 4 bucks per man, woman and child in this country. Not much to be sure, but it adds up!

I agree with what other posters are saying, although
Ford didn't need it
Honda didn't need it
Toyota didn't need it
Hyundai didn't need it
Kia didn't need it
VW didn't need it
BMW didn't need it . . .

I question the validity of your list, because I've read some foreign auto companies did indeed receive bailouts from their respective governments.

But this is just another of your typical anti Chrysler posts. Your post history illustrates your blatant distaste for Chrysler as a whole. Nothing new here.

Here is a link to the actual story.

The story actually paints a pretty good picture for Chrysler, and points out that they are doing well and were able to repay the loans early.

You could try and collect a dime from everyone entering a National Park, if that floats your boat, and report back to us on the results.

That would be about as productive as worrying about a bailout that is done and over with.

That said, have a good one.

I came up with $4.18, but I used 311mil as our population, and that number may not be correct.

Anyhow, $4.18 or $4.23 doesn't buy much any more. I'd say it is a bargain.

I agree with what other posters are saying, although
Ford didn't need it Ford Got it, just through Ford Credit
Honda didn't need it Honda got money though their Gov.
Toyota didn't need it Toyota got money though their Gov.
Hyundai didn't need it They are supported by their Gov.
Kia didn't need it See above same company!!!
VW didn't need it VW got money though their Gov.
BMW didn't need it And yes BMW got money though their Gov. as did evry other car company in the world . . .

I do feel sorry for people like you that can't understand why OUR (I pay taxes also) Gov could not let Chrysler and GM close!

Chrysler the only one to pay back 100% of their loans from the Government. *The Old Car Company" still owes 1.6 billion. Is that better Chuckles
