" A person who is tolerant" maybe is the same type of person who would care less of what other people think? Just a thought.

When I would launch a boat for diving I would see fishermen with the equivalent of buck fever who would cut into line and try to launch without a clue as to how to back up a trailer and then have the boat tying up a ramp while they go all their gear out of their truck and into the boat. It happened so often I ceased to be surprised and learned to go early in the morning to avoid them as most came in from out of the area. I see the same at RV areas where people from out of the state seem to have a why should I care as I am not coming back this way attitude but it is rare and I can usually spot these people and go to a different part of the park.
This is also a reason to boondock and forgo hookups and generators running all morning long as people recharge their batteries. It is why I like small parks that are less like to have large motorhomes and 5th wheelers and instead people that are "roughing it" as they are operating at a different level and are generally very unobtrusive.
The OP fellow reminds me of a woman who used to work for me. She complained about how terrible all the other people were in the office and that she was looking for a job elsewhere not realizing that wherever she went she would be unhappy with her co-workers as the problem was her attitude.
And you gathered that from my comment regarding one party? I don't remember complaining about anyone else in the campground who seemed to function as considerate and social members of society in regards to those around them.
Everyone has a opinion.
To be honest, yes, I can see how he gathered that from your first post, and many others that you posted each time after someone had a different opinion.

I think funnycamper is just making the same observation that many have on this thread. The way you worded your first post seemed like you are the type who gets angry really easy, and then as I said above, your follow ups having to comment to just about everyone who saw differently makes you look extremely intolerant.
And yes, everyone has an opinion. Many on this thread was that you over reacted first by assuming the issue you encountered was an issue with State Parks and then two, the way you treated that woman that was obviously really upset with the situation was not a bit like most of the kind folks I have met when camping (you assume they were fake tears, but it sounded to me like she was really stressed out and didn't like feeling like she was bothering you, she was just in a situation she wasn't sure how to rectify). Admittedly the late at night thing would irritate anyone but it was the way you handled it that seems to suggest you are not one who has much tolerance.
And you are free to act anyway you want, I am just pointing out what it seemed like after reading your first post, and many others jabbing people for their opinion. You have pointed out over and over that 'everyone has an opinion' then berated everyone whose opinion didn't match your own.
Just saying.

Ya gotta admit . . .
"et2" deserves the "HIGH MILEAGE" award for a silly rant started a year ago - July 2011..
and . . .
"et2" - has quite a few "run-ins" & difficulty with "etiquette" at campgrounds!
BTW - but best one is his post about trash can "etiquette" at his home:

I believe the title of my thread stated why "I don't like state parks". Understandably there are many here who have no problems with them. My post by no means was to make people believe they should avoid them. I was just sharing the experience I had and the fact "I" don't care for state parks.
To those who lambaste me for my comments,I don't have a problem with it. I guess that makes you better than me. We all should share your attitude. Obviously I have a problem with people who don't respect others and seem to have the mind set that world to evolves around them. I don't have a problem with my attitude, so maybe you shouldn't let it bother you so much either.
As far as this post is concerned, it looks like there is nothing more constructive that can come of this post. So mods if you would kindly close it you would have no complaints from me.
Happy camping!

Playing the other side of the coin.
What if this couple in an older diesel had been traveling all day and planned to arrive 5 or 6 hrs earlier but got caught in traffic or something? What if they had zero intention of coming to this state park and just had no other choice.
This happened to us at the start of our vacation a few weeks ago.
We were going to stay at the Eagles Roost on I75 South about five miles north of the Florida line.
We got caught in about 5 hrs of traffic and delays. We should have rolled into the Eagles Roost at 6 pm... we didn't get there until 11:30 or so. I hated it for the neighbors and we tried to be as quiet as would could, but the situation was unavoidable. Wal-Marting it was not an option since we don't have a generator.
One of the reasons I bought a gas truck was because of the noise, Gassers tend to produce a lot less noise pollution than a lot of the diesels out there, the new ones being an exception.
Thanks!

In TN, you have to be occupying your campsite by 10 PM and they DO enforce quiet hours.
Same with the Army Corp Park we frequent.
So sorry that happened to you.

Camping is what it is... doesn't have anything to do with 'State' or 'Private' campgrounds. I might have agreed with that position back when SP's were $10/night... but nowadays, they're every bit as expensive as private.
AFA OP's little dustup... it's pretty obvious he has some serious personality issues (thx for the link 'bombero). He's lucky it wasn't us pulling in after hours... anybody talks to my wife like that, and the remainder of their vacation would have been in the hospital.
