We are searching for a place to go FL in the winter. Several parks are part of a group called "Carefree RV". We would appreciate any feedback or firsthand experience with this group.

Their prices are all over the place and they change almost daily. We stay at Tampa East, when we are in the Tampa area and it is OK, but nothing special. It is less than 100 yds from I-4 and right next to an all night McDonalds, if that give you a clue to the noise level....LOL. I would have concerns about a long term stay.

We stay in N Ft Myers at Upriver, it is quiet, but there is a lot to do. Not far from I 75 but right on the river. The people are friendly and the price is alright.

You can get a good price from Indian Creek in Ft. Myers Beach in Oct, Nov and Dec. However, the further south you stay in Fl. in Jan - March, the higher the price. We are originally from Fla. and spend our winter in Arizona where the prices are better and the resorts are REAL resorts.

Zephyrhills (about 25 miles NE of Tampa) has something like 6 or 7 Carefree parks. One is right across the street from us. Nice big sites, lots of winter activites.
