As some of you may know, I wired a 100k potentiometer across my thermistor wires yesterday to try to lower my fridge temp. Short version is that it worked. Overnight the fridge temp reached 38 degrees. Early this morning I lowered the setting about 1/8 of a turn. The temp is now 30 degrees. I just raised the setting back up about 1/16 turn and will see how it reacts. Hopefully that will get me where I wanna be...

At this point I couldn't really get good pics since I have everything concealed in shrink tubing, so you can't really see anything at all. I don't know the rules for posting links, so I'll send the link (that I used for installing) to you via private message.

classicdude sometimes when your frig is empty turn it to MAX and make sure you are getting 100% run time (no kicking off for a couple day with no door use just see what your frig can do. That will tell you the MAX the frig can do in that same enviroment.
We have a Norcold and that option is standard on the front of the frig.

I will play around with this a lot before our next trip this Friday. Hope the performance continues. The link explains installing the device inside the camper, but I just placed mine inside the exterior vent. I don't mind going outside to tweek it!

This sounds like a good project for next week. I'll try although I'm not sure exactly what I'm looking for. I bet I know before the end of the day, considering that I have certain obsessive compulsive tendencies about this stuff!

Fridge is holding 34 degrees. Outside air temp is 92 degrees, humidity is 53%. Freezer temp is -20...Jeez! I saw on this forum where someone questioned another posters reading of -20. Well, I've checked it with 2 different thermometers.
Computer fan is running in the fridge compartment, and two are mounted in the lower outside vent- blowing upward across the coils.
I wonder if I'm putting additional strain on any of the refer components by doing this?

Well I'm gonna try my hand with pics using a suggestion I received awhile back. Hope it works!

Hopefully this is a picture of the mounted potentiometer.

This is where I attached the pot wires to the thermistor wires. Like I said, you can't see much. All is covered by shrink tubing. I added protection with electrical tape covered by 'liquid tape' I just happened to have lying around.

Last but not least, a couple of computer fans blowing upward across the exterior coils. Also had lying around...
