Itseems that my heart 15 inverter got fried and I was wondering if they can be fixed. Also if not what can replace it because it appears that they don't make the heart anymore. Do you have to change the remote panel and do they wire up the same as the old one? I would apreciate any input. My unit is a 2002 Itasca Horizon 40' pusher. Thanks

There are many places to get Heart inverters repaired. Here is one Inverter Doctor. If you put in a new one, you would have to change the remote panel.

If you decide not to throw repair money at your Heart, consider a new one made by MAGNUM ENERGY They had the better warranty when we were in the market about two years ago. Ours is the MS2812. Do shop around because prices can vary! Made in America too... ...IF that carries any weight with you.

Before you buy a new inverter what fried in the old one? I have repaired two of the same inverters in early 2000 model Winnebagos. On both the wiring had come loose and burned - one where the 110 vots enters the inverter and one where 110 volts left the inverter. They had wingnuts on the electric connections and they worked loose and overheated. I cut out the melted ends and did a proper rewire. Both are working like new.

I don't know what a Heart 15 is, but there is a Heart interface which is made by Xantrex called the 458 Freedom inverter. You can buy them for around five hundred dollars. And if that is what you have, there are several places here in the west coast that fix them. One that I had mine fixed is in Portland, Oregon and the other is in southern California, but I recommend the one in Portland much better tech. I have the 2K watt inverter on mine. PPL also has an ad in Goggle that they sell them also. They are very good inverters.

Well today I called PPL rv parts and I was overwhelmed with the help and information I recieved from them. Usually they want to sell you a new inverter, but not the case here. I was told by a man named Leon how to check everything that could be a problem before buying. The information he gave me covered every part that could be replaced if burned out. I'm still in the process of checking all the replaceable parts, but I will keep you posted on the outcome. If your having inverter problems I would not hesitate to give them a call and I'm sure they will lead you to your problem. I am in no way connected to this company, just impressed with the way they do business. they can be reached at 1-800-755-4775

I had the same problem you are having with the charger on the inverter not charging and what they replaced was called a transfer switch. But the tech said that the transfer switch had gone bad because of a loose connection in the inverter.

When my Heart 1000 fried, I found the circuit board with the transfer relays and wires to it fried. I replaced mine with a Magnum as my remote control was to old to be used with the 458 series and would have to be replaced anyway. I was able to buy my unit on E-Bay and found a new remote and added the generator control module. I was able to use the remote control cable from the old Heart and that saved me a lot of work getting a wire from the front of the coach to the new inverter. I am still using my old battery cables and fuses from the 1000 Heart on the new 2000 watt unit. My load is not that great and I do not feel the need to up size them. If the load does increase, the fuse will blow and then I will up grade.
