DW and I just purchased an Allegro 35QBA and are thrilled with it. With four slides this thing is huge when camping (if one can still call it that). Going from a toy hauler trailer to this is the cats meow. Push a few buttons, do normal hook ups, have beverage and relax. Brand new can be found for under $100.

In today's economy that's nothing to sneeze at.

We just purchased a 2012 Bounder Classic with bunks. 3 slides and plenty of room. We upgraded from a class c with bunks. Our class C lasted three days at Lazydays before being sold...

When we started our search we looked at all the major manufacturers websites. My apologies for forgetting Winnie and Itasca as our first bunkhouse was an Itasca Sunova 35j. It was a great unit, but ours was on a Workhorse chassis which had some issues. If you go with a gasser you should be able to get one on a clean deal for under $100k. Diesels with start on a clean deal at around $150k and then go up from there. Many of the major manufacturers have even gone to two levels of diesel bunkhouses. Forest River has the entry level Berkshire and the higher end Charleston, while Tiffin has the Allegro RED and the Phaeton in bunk units. Take your pick of floor plans and amenities and enjoy the search. It's always fun to look. You may want to think about hitting the Hershey RV show next month which is just on the other side of PA from you.

Another option is to look for something you can add bunks to. I've seen bunks added to mhs with long closets (e.g. Bounder 39Z or Discoverys 37V (on the side) or others with closet at the back) or rear-walk-ins (e.g. I think Monaco among others made some). The only problem with putting it an existing closet is that they are usually maybe 5-6' long or less so it really only works with younger kids.

We purchased a Winnebago Vista 32K with bunks. We also moved up from a TT and are so very happy. Ours was a used 2008 model and in 2009 it was under $75K. I'd imagine you could find a used one now in 50-60 range.
Good luck with your search!

Walked through a new Winnebago Vista just yesterday with bunkbeds and a large wrap-around dinette that would easily seat four adults with elbow room to spare. My immediate thought was, "What a great choice for a traveling family."

Just purchased our 34 B as well. Wished they would have put a bigger TV in the back. Is your rear TV hooked up to the DVD player? I noticed our wasn't and the previous Tiogo I owned was similar. Thanks.

First off, some clarification: No, there are almost NO MHs built that offer a true 'bunkhouse', like what TTs and 5ers offer. A 'bunkhouse' in the true sense of the word, means a separate room with bunks. Only 5ers or TTs give you that (we love ours and will miss it when we move up to a class A soon).
Now, there are many Class A MHs that offer a pair of 'hallway' bunks, and several have mentioned those models. They started making them around 2007. There's also a few that offer a drop-down bunk over the front cab.
We're actually about to purchase a Class A with hallway bunks ourselves, the Forest River Georgetown 351DS. There's several to chose from like this, as already said.

Bunks have been around for many years in class A's. I owned a '83 Winnie 26' with rear bunks. We no longer need the bunks and our Monaco doesn't have them. They did hold a lot of "stuff" though.
Livin' the dream!
