I have found WD-40 to the absolute best cleaner for the exterior on my fiberglass TT. It is amazeing for cleaning stained slide seals and removing black streaks and mold from molding. I really havent found anything that it wont remove. I recently replaced some decals and had a hard time removing the dried adhesive. WD-40 took it right off very easily.

My question is it really good for the rubber seals etc. Could it maybe dry them out. I did notice the seals are a little "sticky" when I run out the slides.

USES FOR WD-40

Here you go....

I also use it to spray into my trailer connector plug to cleanup the trailer contacts before I hook up.

Every RV guy I know has a WD40 spraycan in his truck door side pocket.

EDIT NOTE:
it says - Lubricates rubber insulation around storm doors

I love the stuff, it also absorbs water so if the water heater gets wet spray them wires and it will work real good.

The company states on their website that it is safe for rubber so, hopefully, it must be. They will not say what it contains but it sure smells like it is petroleum based (which would not be good for rubber). I suppose if there was a problem one could always take action against the company saying it is safe for rubber.

I didn't read the whole list but. spray some in the air cleaner of had to start mower or any motor, it will usually start on first pull. Masons use it to keep stucco from sticking to metal frames on buildings. Spray some on the base of a paint brush before using it, it will wash clean even if dried on. It is good to clean paint off hands also. I've heard that you can use it as a flame thrower, but i'm not going to try. Handy stuff for sure. Jerry

That's not all, it is an excellent cutting fluid for aluminum too! Used it in the machine shop for many years for that amongst many other things it can be used for. Excellent stuff!

WD-40 *is* petroleum based.

Of course, if the COMPANY says it's OK for rubber - it certainly must be!.

There are many far better choices for everything the OP mentioned, from cleaners, polishers, electrical connections, etc.

More of a solvent than a "lubricant" - ask a locksmith what he thinks of it.

Quick -"down and dirty"- for stuff you don't care about!

But - whatever rings your chimes - or (YIKES!) cleans your gelcoat.

I don't think I would use it as a cleaner on my rig except maybe the undercarriage!
