Two years ago he was a very sick cat, his liver numbers were off the charts but he came through it. He's 16 yrs. old now.
Last night he vomited yellow mucous and this morning the same thing.
He won't eat and he's very lathargic, just wants to lay by the door and not be bothered
I have an app't. for 2 PM, hopefully this same vet that treated him two years ago can pull another magic formula out of her hat.
He's such a sweet and loving cat...very regal and stoic compared to my other two boys.
Thanks for any and all good thoughts and prayers for JJ, I'm certainly not prepared mentally to go through this again so soon.
Sher

How long do you plan on letting him suffer through the pains of old age? The magical time of youth is well gone for him. Everybody has their time. :/

A bit harsh, but also realistic. 16 years is quite a life for a wonderful cat like JJ. I do hope and pray that your Vet can work the magic again, but please, don't let him suffer any longer, if there is nothing that can be done.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time.

Prayers from Nova Scotia.
Marble will be 16 next month and so far so good but I am preparing myself that she is no longer "young". Keep us posted and I am sending 7 hugs from my 7 dwarfs for you and your baby. Hope everything goes well and if it is time I know you will do the right thing.
Hugs

Yeah I'd say that's a bit harsh...JJ has been healthy and just fine for two years and three months, maybe this is just another episode but I'm not going to go in thinking I will just put him to sleep. I take wonderful care of my pets and will do what's medically necessary to keep them healthy and happy.
If this can't be resolved and he will suffer I will be the first to make that decision and quickly, he will not suffer.
You might want to learn some compassion and some tact.
I've had some cats live healthy happy lives for 20 years so I will not just give up on JJ because he is 16 (on the 30th)
He'll get the best chance to survive this.

Here's hoping the vet can pull something out... Sixteen isn't young, but I've had cats have trouble before at that age and come through it. I know if you're not able to get him back on his feet, you'll do what you have to do, but I hope you get more time.

There is a difference between momentary discomfort and suffering with little to no chance of recovery.
Age is not a disease.
I hope your vet can find what is causing the problem, and it's treatable.

Yes, prayer that it is treatable. No reason to assume his age means he has to be terminally ill.

Hi Sher,
Of course I'm praying for JJ. Poor kitty, hope it' just a bump on the road of life and he feels better soon. Hugs to you and JJ (and a lick from Andy!)
