They offer a chocie between 30' and 40' sites. I wouldn't think that there shouldn't be an issue with the size of the site. You should fit in one or the other, more than likely. Choose the larger site if you have question about it. When we stayed at Unicoi, it wasn't an issue to us. We picked a full hook up site and that's what we got. Our camper fit there. Our truck had to be parked at an angle, but wasn't an issue.

Brian, you'd be surprised. Alleged 40' sites would only measure out to 31' actual feet in some cases (yes, I measured it from roadside to the back). With a 27 foot TT pulled by a full-sized pu, this is a real issue.

Reserve America is not better and it adds to the cg rates.

First law of science: don't spit into the wind.

I have to add my "I like the Georgia system" to the chorus! I, too, like to be able to drive around and pick the site that is best for us. And it is true that the states that allow a specific site to be reserved often have prime sites standing empty because of no-shows. I think Georgia has it right!

The the OP's complaint wouldn't really matter anyway, unless he already knew of what site really was big enough. If a site was said to fit a 40' MH in it and it only fit 31', then someone who has never been there would not know that. Especially if the campground system says that specific site is 40'. It doesn't fix anything.

We get there early and take our time searching for site.

For us that still have to work, getting there early is not an option. And 'take our time looking for a site' is even less an option.

You have been real lucky getting what you reserved. Twice we where not able to get the site we reserved. When I talked to the Ranger at the office his response was 'Sorry nothing I can do. We had to leave and no offer to find us something else.

We no longer use any of the Ga parks because of that. Should make you feel better, one less RV to use the system.

I don't know what other complain about with good sites gone when they become available. You just need to plan and make your reservations online. I did that two years in a row for Bahia Honda Fl State Park. It was a site overlooking the water too.
