If you don't want the fuel can. Then leave it out and let someone steal it.

I had some in a 1000 gallon tank. Probably 18+ months old. Really didn't want it in my truck. A friend of mine thought it would be fine in his tractor. I earlier told him he could mix it with new diesel and probably be ok. Anyway he had to road it about 20 miles. Before he got to his home he started having problems. Put new fuel in and then OK. No don't use the old fuel.

Couple gals old fuel in a full tank ain't gonna hurt. If you see junk in the bottom of the can, leave it in the bottom. For that matter, a couple gals of gas won't hurt either.
