I have a 26' keystone with an electric awning. I've grown up with the old style awnings, and they seem to be more rigid. This elcectric one doesnt have as many contact pionts, so it seems to flap in the wind an awful lot!! I guess im gooking for any tips on how to tighten up the whole thing.

Are you tightening the two hand bolts at either end of the awning. I push mine down a bit and make sure that the awning is tight and then it stays nice sand straight.

If you tighten the hand bolts then you defeat the best feature of an electric awning, the automatic rain spill from either end. If it's flapping in the wind, it's time to roll it in anyway.

I have looked several times, there are no bolts to tighten.

Honestly, it flaps in ANY wind! I'm starting to think that maybe it's stretched.......Is that possible?
Thanks

Have you rolling it in and out a couple times to see if it's fully extended? It could also have been installed incorrectly.

With my Carefree Travl’r I extend it fully just until it drops/sags a little and then stop. I then retract it (a second on the switch) and that tightens it up nicely. They will flap a little more in the wind then a manual and you can not use de-flappers but the gas shocks keep it pretty tight. The nice thing about electric is you can role it in very easily when leaving your trailer, at night or at the first sign or bad weather.

Do a search on automatic awnings. You will find varying opinions and advice. I personally hate ours.

I also have a 26' Keystone and my unit has 2 turn knobs to adjust. I can drop it down and lock it in place in windy conditions. I was very sceptical of the electric awning at first, but have never had any problems.
