Sometimes I wish all RV's had an Address, something like a DOT ID number and were all interconnected to each other so you could communicate to each other.
This week I on my way back from my end of summer RV trip with the kids, I saw an RV with a bike dangling by a thread from the bike rack, another with his dish still up, and 2 other RV's with antennas still up... And my wife wonders why I am so anal about checking and rechecking everything before we leave...

Multiple times I've flagged RV'ers off to the side of the road for antenna up, window swinging in the breeze, bragging a sewer hose, and one who was dragging his electrical cord (the plug was virtually worn off!).

That's the reason your supposed to check the mirrors every 15-20 seconds. There are too many people on the road that don't see beyond the 5ft in front of them. Should we wonder why there are so many wrecks?

Not just RV's, it should be all vehicles.
Maybe your license plate should be your cell number. I bet we would have better drivers then.

Then could I have an unlisted plate?

So far we've lost an end cap and a sewer connection and drove off with our antenna up the only time we ever tried using it. Someone waved to us before we left the campground though. I even hung a "sign" on the steering wheel and didn't notice it on the way out. Some days I'm just distracted.
I can see myself trailing other "clouds of glory" and appreciate a holler (although not on my cell phone!)

Of course, there's always the night in a secluded area when someone behind you continues to frantically blink their lights and is right on your bumper!!! We thought we were going to be mugged... But, just a friendly person trying to tell us our gas cap was open.
And, yes, we have forgotten our gas cap before. Had to put duct tape on the darned thing so that dirt wouldn't get in. That wasn't a pretty site!
Maybe a good idea for a way to communicate. Maybe not. Got to think that one through a bit more

I monitor 146.520 mhz when traveling, and there is a sign on the back of my fiver that says so. That's as close to an address that I'm willing to give. If you look at the FCC database under my call sign, you'll get my mailing address, not my sticks and bricks address.

We have to travel to Medford Oregon or Redding Calif. (150 miles apart) to do big shopping or for medical service larger than a bandage station.
We us I-5 and over the years we have seen all kinds of doors and things open. The one that sticks in my mind was a Class A with a hose and part of a plastic pipe draging. Also several with the electric cords dragging and sewer hoses still hooked up. Like others said. I wonder if they ever look in their mirrors??
I work hard a trying to get it all done before I pull out and always make a last walkaround. Still find things but so far have not lost any thing or left it behind. However my tire covers have tire prints all the way around.
