So I got my big ole Camper off my Truck and the Big diamond plate tool box back into the bed all bolted in. Then I had the bright idea to out my Honda Generator inside it so I could lock it up and have it with me when I go go camping. WRONG!! Too tall by a long shot, so, guess I'll step back and come up with a way to carry it in the bed with a big ole honking chain and lock on it. OF Course I'll put a cover on it when not in use.

I have a 24x24x48 Greenlee jobsite tool box that my Generac 4000XL fits in. The tool box and protected lock/latch system is also far heavier duty and break-in resistant than most aluminum truck boxes. You can get these sturdy jobsite type tool boxes from Knaack and JoBox in various sizes. I have 5 or 6 of them from all 3 brands in a few different sizes on my truck and trailers. They are weather tight and very secure when either bolted or welded into the truck or trailer. I welded most of my boxes in place.

If someone wants you Honda bad enough all they have to do is cut the handle and take it if that is where the chain is going through. But then again locks and chains are only to keep honest people honest. It is a sad fact.

If you're selling your truck camper...

A. What are you going to camp in?

If A is not a truck camper...

B. Why is this posted in the truck camper forum?

The context of your post right now leads people to believe that you were installing this toolbox in front of the camper, thereby pushing the camper back 18-24", which usually causes a problem no matter how many people claim it's "just fine."

Maybe he has friends here and feels comfortable talking in the truck camper forum? I don't see a problem with that.

I do agree, it could be a bit confusing, because we assume there is a truck camper involved in the question, when there actually isn't. I was able to discern that he was talking about the truck being empty from the original question but if I had read the question a little more quickly, I may have missed that detail.

It wasn't posted in the truck camper forum. It was posted in Around The Campfire.

Some IT dweeb in Bowling Green, KY decided that it was off topic and it's proper location was the truck camper forum. I encourage you to scroll down to the post "Moderator" and click the "Send private message" option. Then give him/her a piece of your mind.
