Looking at a used Falcon 5250. Anyone have one that they can tell me about? Good-bad or....Have a tow dolly now and thinking of switching.
Thanks

Used one for thousands of miles, until we were rear ended while towing and it became a metal pretzel. My major complaint was that if you were NOT straight, it would bind when trying to unhook. Replaced it with a Falcon AT, which is heavier duty and will release when not parked straight.

I've been using the same one since the beginning of 2001 with no problems. Started out pulling a 94 Jeep Cherokee then a 2001 Cherokee behind a 32' 90 Winnebago - Chieftain and currently pulling a 99 Durango behind the DP. I still have the release bars that came with mine and have used them a few times, but not often. I've pulled about 50,000 miles on mine.

Good product.

I too was looking at a 5250 ended up with a Falcon 2 on Ebay. Either should be OK, but the 5250 sometimes needed a tool to leverage release of the locking buttons if the towbar was under tension from the connections.

If you check Roadmaster's web site you can see the tool.

I have had my 5250 for 10 years now. If you are sitting crooked it maym need the tool to release but that is not difficult to do. It has worked very good for us.

I've used one for 11 years. Pretty much bombproof as far as I'm concerned.
