Where I've been and where I'm coming from is none of their business. I could have been coming from a meeting that disclosed that his mother was never married. Does he want to hear that?

Can anyone find on the internet how much money the state of CA actually takes in from their DMV fees? It has to be the single biggest cash cow for them.

Bkirkpatrick,
I saw a breakdown from 2009 and we are the ones who don't even get a reach around. 37.6 billion in personal income tax, then sales and use tax 11 billion, corporate tax 7.1 billion, other revenue 4.1 billion.
Hang on I have to get an inflatable donut to sit on.

If you think its bad now just wait- taxes have to go up and even with "higher revenue" the state is headed to bankruptcy. CA could really take a lesson from the TX or WY play book!

Doesn't matter if it's their business or not, they ask whatever questions they want to.

In all reality though, they really don't care where you're coming from or where you're going. Their main purpose for asking all the questions is to get you talking and interacting with them. They do this so they can assess your physical state (see if you act intoxicated or on drugs or not), or find out if you appear to be nervous about something, such as a warrant, or carrying something illegal in the vehicle.

It is actually a pretty good thread. A lot of therapy taking place. I for one and falling in love with California all over again.
