The risk in doing so, however, is that those around you will want what you have. More than 1000 years after the fall of Rome, the lessons of history have still not been learned.
I dunno. As far as drivers go it didnt really seem to be all that. A far cry from some of the daimond covered Benzes some of those Arabs drive. Beyond that all I can say is...Air Force One.
As far as extravagant living goes, I guess it's relative. I'd say the lions share of our federal government are living extravagant lives compared to a large percentage of the population. Perks of the office and all I guess. If the most they can point to is a middle of the road rv and some tents with a/c I wouldnt say he was living all that far out of line given his position. I doubt he was the only guy in Libya with an rv or a/c.
Not saying he wasn't a right royal bastard in the way he treated some of his people though....

Glad I'm not the only one who was woefully underimpressed with that rig. Really? Luxury? Sorry ... that kitchen was awful. He can have his cramped, compartmented mobile home. And the living room was ALL THE WAY in the back?
I didn't seem to see any slideouts either. It is a decent rig, but scrawny compared to today's standards where they almost expand to twice the width with 5+ slides.
It may not be impressive by "decadent American" standards, but by Libyan standards (at least the typical Libyan), it probably looks quite extravagant. I saw a different report where there were several rebels inside the RV with the reporter. They seemed quite happy to have "liberated" the vehicle, although no one mentioned what they were going to do with it.
