(posting in 'general' because applies to all types of RV's)...
Has anyone replaced the carpet in the bedroom of an RV with linoleum? If the carpet stays in place, any suggestions re. maintenance/stain avoidance? We camp mostly near the beach, and inevitably the carpet will attract sand, dirt, etc.
thanks

Go to Walmart and get some carpet "runners". narrow rugs that are put down in high traffic areas. You can take these out and wash them off with a hose and vacuum around the rest of the carpet.

You might want to pull back a hidden corner to see if there is linoleum underneath already. Many modern campers have linoleum laid throughout the unit even before the walls and/or cabinets are installed. (Except Slides)

Ours did, and it was just a matter of pulling up the rug and the thousands of staples they used to hold it down.

I think it's high time carpeting was eliminated in RVs.

Our Flagstaff actually came with the "Minimal Carpet" option.

There is no carpet on the floor and the only carpet overall is on the low part of the nightstand by the bed at the front.

I don't see why anyone would want carpet in a travel trailer. Maybe for a destination type trailer on a seasonal site but I wouldn't want to have to vacuum or clean it.

Hi All.

When we did our Motorhome Make-Over. We pulled all of the OEM Flooring out of our Motorhome. The Kitchen had a very small Wooden Floor then the rest of the Kitchen was carpet. The Hall and the Bathroom was carpet also. We re-carpeted all of the Motorhome with new carpeting. But we installed Vinel Floorinng in the Kitchen and the Hall and the Bathroom. We just don't care for cold floors, since we use our Motorhome On & Off all year long. We also use Stair Runners and Carpet Runners all over the inside of the Motorhome to help keep the new carpets looking new. As said, its easy to take them out and shake off any dirt or sand out of them or to wash them. Which we hardly ever have any, anyways, as we remove our shoes before we enter our Motorhome. It makes it very easy to keep our carpeting very clean. Durning trips we only use a Carpet Sweeper only. We do heavey Vac when we get home. It makes life a little bit simpler. Works great for us. Good Luck. Happy Travels. Dan & Jill
