Go ahead and leave your wife without any hot water for her shower...don't say you haven't been warned!!!!!!

If it moves but shouldn't, use Duct Tape. If it doesn't move but should, use WD40.

Will a new/larger shower hose/head increase water output or is that strictly a product of water pressure?

In addition to your regular shore water, try turning your "water pump" switch on at the same time.

We had the same problem when we first started on our trip around the USA! We removed the restrictor and it helped a little, but once we upgraded to the Watts regulator we had more flow! It seems to me to be a flow problem not pressure. Our shower or sink would start strong for a second then slow way down. After the regulator change it has a nice steady firm flow with the cheap factory installed shower head. Rough2000 is right though, with the better flow comes increased water usage. We blow through hot water now and fill the grey tanks faster with the new regulator but oh well that's the price you pay for good strong showers!

I have a 16 gallon equivalent Atwood water heater and we haven't run out of hot water yet using the Watts regulator.

PS- At full volume they don't save water, but it's a full spray shower.

I have the oygenics shower head and I did a test with a stop watch and a bucket. I also have a 5.7 GPM sureflo smart sensor water pump that is capable of putting out that 5.7 gallons per minute at 80 PSI. I turned on both the hot and cold full blast, then I put the shower head into a bucket and started the stop watch. After 1 minute I took the shower head out of the bucket and measured the amount of water that it put out in one minute. It was 1 and 1/2 gallons exactly. That is at full blast, which is not neccessary to get a good shower from this head, but that is one way to prove to your self that the oxygenics shower head does indeed save water at all pressures. With a 6 gallon hot water heater, you don't run out of hot water. So you can tell I am a happy oxygenics shower head user. Try it, you will like it.

Hi,

Sometimes the old shower head will get some of the ports clogged with scale, or minerials, so cleaning them might help. But it also looks like there are 5 or 6 votes for a new shower head too. I might have to look into those.

Yep, I have to agree. I fulltime, so the RV shower is used daily. I only have a 6 gal water heater. Before the oxygenics upgrade, I had to work hard to finish a good shower before the hot ran out. After the upgrade, there is always hot water left after I'm done. I don't even have to hurry like I once did. So I'm sure of the conservation. My wife agrees, and she's right even when she's wrong.

Did the same test with the same pump and whatever the Meridian OEM showerhead is. On full volume with the pump (no shore water) the Oxy uses more water then the OEM head (Results are posted on an Oxy thread on iRV2).. BUT.. The OEM head is weak at best, even on full, but can run the Oxy at 1/2 volume and get a WAY better shower with a full spread. Better than anything else I've come across.
