We never take ours down, so I screwed a 3/4 x 3/4 board to the wall and screwed up through that to the table top. Solid!

If your table goes up flush to the wall there's another trick. The guy that owned my Chinook before me did this mod:
Fasten a cleat to the wall (kinda like pkunk did but you'll need a bit bigger piece of wood) so that the table fits flush on top of it. Drill the cleat and install 2 vertical metal pins spaced apart as far as you see fit.
Drill the underside of the table at the pin locations and install some metal inserts that the pins will fit into. The inserts will be stronger than the base wood (or particle board) your table is made of.
Now when you install the table it will be supported vertically by the tube(s) and at the end by the cleat positively located laterally by the pins. It works great and the dinette can still be used as a bed.

My friend just solved this in his rv by converting the table to a wall mount with a leg at the end of the table. Now its solid and still can come apart to use the dinette as a bed. He bought a conversion kit at the local rv store.
This kit of course wont work if your wobbly table doesn't sit next to a wall.

I'll also give a recommendation to the single leg option. Used this hinge along with this support leg.
Took about 2 hours to install since it is a pivot from table to the bed height and I wanted to get the measurements absolutely correct since both the hinge bracket and wall plates are mounted on the wall. They have a drawing on the above link that shows how it works when finished.
A benefit is that now we use the dinette bed not for lying down but sitting up and watching a movie together after dinner. While that could be done before but it was a pain to take the table down and put backup. Plus you had to put those two tubes someplace.

great idea for the wall. I have a U-dinette so no wall flush option for me. Still trying to figure it out. I am thinking of getting a small pipe and flattening the ends to make a removable support bar much like some brands use as support for hybrid bunks. One end on bottom of table top and the other end on the bottom of the dinette booth.
