I've done the search from past posts and can't find posts addressed to Laredo fifth wheel quality. One of the red flags that concerns me is a nationwide search on RV Trader turns up on three units nationwide and the same basic Jayco turns up over 50. Any input from Laredo quality from owners would be greatly appreciated.

Jim - We have a 2010 Laredo 266rl. We have had 0 issues. The only problem we ran into was that they had mislabelled the tanks. Grey was black and black was grey. A clear dump hose attachment soon helped us identify this issue. We have travelled around Lake Superior. travelled around Ontario as far as Kingston and back and done a few trips into Ohio, Pensylvania and New York state. We also camp close by home almost every weekend. Hope this helps.

As far as your Rvtrader search...that wouldn't concern me. It could tell me that Laredo owners hold onto their units longer or there are more people buying them.
Like Portliz....my 2010 316RL waste valves were labled backwards.(must have been a new guy).
I have had very little troubles with mine. The only thing I had to have warrantied was a leaky inlet valve on the toilet. There were two recalls as well, the microwave and spare tire carrier.
And yes mine gets used. Every-other weekend we do a 300 mile round trip to the coast. Last year we made the 1500 mile round trip to Niagara and then last fall we went to Key West. This winter we have a month long trip to Arizona planned.
If I had to do it again I would. Great Bang for the Buck!

I sure do see a lot of them going down the road. And, I sure don't recall reading around here about a lot of problems and complaints from owners.

I know the above was probably completely unhelpful, but what the heck...

I have never owned but have seen several Laredo's at shows and dealers. I've always thought they are quite nice for the price and well finished. I think they are nicer than the Cougar but a step feature wise below the Mountianeer.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy one.

Our "Family Fleet" over the years have included

Jayco (2)
Cardinal
Cedar Creek
Cherokee
and now a 2011 Larado

Having torn apart my Daughters new Larado to make modifications I'll have to say it doesn't take a back seat to any of the other mentioned makes in quality.

Hey Jim - We have a 2008 265RL Laredo and have used it hard (Going from Florida to New York several times as well as other long trips). So far, no real problems. But this summer, I had some new Maxxis tires put on as I didn't trust the Chinese tires that came on it. I recommend slide toppers highly! Had a small leak on the big slide but the topper fixed it. I sent the power converter back to Calif. after 1 year and they sent me a new one - no problem. I had the easy flex installed for the suspension (the new Laredos comes with them now). Overall, very good unit for the price.

I have a 2010 Keystone Laredo. While I have had to do several things to it to fix some factory defects(I bought it used/no warranty), it doesn't seem to be any lesser quality than any of the others I have seen or owned. Quite frankly, regardless of brand or model, they are most all thrown together just good enough to get them out of warranty. I have seen missing screws, misaligned cabinet doors, screws through wiring, wiring laying on sharp edges, etc etc on them all. I do understand how this came to be though. If a manufacturer took the time to do all of those things I mentioned above correctly it would add a couple more hours to the assembly time, which would add a couple hundered more dollars to the final price. Since we, the custumer beats everyone up on price, that additional couple hundred dollars would make them uncompetitive on price causing a potential buyer to walk down the street to a lower price.. Nobody seems to appreciate the quality until later when they find all of the problems. I am a do it yourselfer, and I saved a lot on my used Laredo, so I don't really mind doing the repairs. But if I had paid list price for this thing and found all of these defects, I would be really PO'd big time. On the othe rhand, if these RVS were built really well, they would be too heavy to be pulled around wherever you want. So, I really do kinda understand why they are built the way they are.

we traded our 07 Cougar in on a new 2011 245RLS Laredo. We just got back from Alaska plus we went to Texas and Florida in February. We now have over 18,000 miles on it with only two warranty items. I have installed wet bolt kits in the EZFlex suspension. When repacking the wheel bearings I did find one wheel seal that had leaked grease onto the brake shoes. IMHO the Laredo is a better quality unit than our Cougar was. Also our Laredo tows so much nicer.

We have had our 27RL for over 7 years now. We camp about 40-50 nights per year plus a week vacation in there. We have had very few problems other than normal wear and tear.

We would not hesitate to buy another one......only bigger
