I'm not sure where you are going in AZ but you can find a nice lot in the foothills outside Yuma for between $400 to $450 a month and that would have full hook ups. It wouldn't be in a campground but the lots are huge. PM me if you want more information. I can send you some photos if you like.

I despise dump stations and only use public rest rooms and showers as a last resort. Have been to two dump stations in 1267 nights in the motorhome, and I remember each visit. Good luck with your frequent trips to dump. As an alternative, can the campground hook you up with a honey wagon to pump you out?

I know several couples that winter in COE parks and use a blue tote. They pull it behind their truck/car to the dump station. They don't seem to mind doing that.

Me, I would not snowbird without FHU, WIFI, and cable TV.

I'm with Tom N......I'd find another campground. Besides the fact that using a tote will get old REALLY fast, you'll also have to find a way to haul it around with you when you leave.......strapped to the rig? For a week, yes. For a winter, HECK NO!

I'd have to agree about finding another campground. It's unrealistic to expect to go to a dump station all winter long. Don't even consider it.

And everyone else there will be jockeying for position at the black hole, not to mention mishaps by others not properly cleaned up before your turn. Not my idea of fun. I'd keep looking for a FHU campground.

You're right...that is another option they do have (pump out service)......but, how expensive is that?

Call the campground and ask!

Hi,

I have a mascerator pump, and it has the ability to pump over 100'. I have 40' of clear flexible tubing - 1" ID from Home Depot, about $1.50 per foot. I found that I needed to extend it by about 4', and I used some low cost 3/4" PVC tubing, 10' for only about $3. If you have a place to store 60 - 80' of 3/4" PvC tubing, and that will get you to the dump staion, you will be in a great situation.

By gluing together 2 - 10' sections of PVC, then you can use about 1' of clear tubing with two 1" hose clamps, then another 20' of PVC, until you get close to the dump staion. A 5' section of clear tubing near the pump, and another 5 - 8" at the end, and you will have a complet pump set-up. Now if the campground does not mind, you are set. And it would require setting up within about 80 - 120 feet from the dump station, or another place that accepts the black water, or perhaps you can pump into the restrooms? IDK, they might not allow that.

We spent the winter (3 months without moving) in a GA state park that only had water/electric hookups. We also have a 30 gallon two wheeled tote. I dumped tanks while hubby was working. The tanks on the Class C are only 18 gallon each. Using the bathhouse except at night kept dumping trips down to once a week. If I were buying again, I would buy a 4 wheeled tote. That 18 gallons of waste water got real heavy and I have to tip the tank up on end to dump it.

BTW, we rent a a full hookup site in NM (includes cable/HBO & wi-fi) for $350/month. This is a park full of quiet working folks, so no frills. It's not a snowbird/retirees resort.

There are way too many park options throughout AZ that have sewer hookups and would meet your other criteria. Something I hadn't noticed in the remarks but you would find yourself skimping on water consumption as if you are dry camping for several months. Is that the way you really want to retire??
