Set up to trade our signature TT for a (barely) used '11 Palomino Puma 25BH in a couple of days...got into RV'ing, liked it, use the TT all the time, and now ready for something a little larger and more comfortable...went back to Palomino because the line seems ok in quality (it's a Forest River), and we're used to most of the systems...the funny thing is, I'm wondering if the folks who have seen our 'old' unit will even notice the difference--the 'new' one has the same type of windows, the same graphics, etc---even the same interior 'decor' (in both, it's the 'spice' decor)....WE will notice the difference, especially in the 'walk-around' bed v. the 'sleeping nest' stuffed into the back corner that we have now...kinda looking forward to bringing out friends who have seen what we have now...the 'SOMEthing is different, but I just can't put my finger on WHAT' thing

I for one am looking forward to hearing if you actually find your new one more comfortable. Looking at the floorplans of your old and new one - looks like you lose a couch.
pasusan? we actually gave that serious thought...the couch, for us, LOOKS handy--especially as a place to watch tv (see current floorplan)--but, the way we actually end up using the trailer, by the time we're ready to watch the tube our son is usually asleep on the couch (folded out)...it IS handy when we have folks over, but mostly we are bbq'ing and hanging outside with friends...and, we've checked the angles--with the sliding door open, the TV is easily viewed from the bedroom of the new unit...would we LIKE a couch? sure! is it a NEED? not at this stage...what we DO need is a bed that doesn't require: 1) one person to be jammed up against the outside wall; 2) the 'outside' person having to crawl over the 'inside' person if there's a need to get out of bed in the middle of the night; and 3) both people in the 'sleeping nest' having to kinda crawl into bed feet-first
Don't get me wrong--we like our current unit and it served its purpose--to get us into RV'ing in an easy and inexpensive way to make sure we liked it and would actually USE it...now we're ready for the next step...the NEXT step...not a 35' long TT that can only be pulled by a locomotive, with granite counters, italian marble floors, and gold plumbing fixtures

So long as YOU notice the difference, and you are the one paying for it and enjoying it, that's all that matters! Congrats on the new rig!
I hate to make such a 'girly girl' comment, but its sorta like when i come home with new shoes or clothes...i have such a TYPE that I like, that my SO will often say "those are new, don't you already have that same thing" LOL. I notice it but yea, I know what i like, so most of what I get is similar to the old stuff. :-P The only thing getting a new rig that is similar to the old proves is YOU KNOW what you like.
Actually what our son did when he and his son stayed by us for a few days (we don't have a bunkhouse); my son converted the dinette into the bed and he and his son "lounged" there and watched TV. We used the sofa and the rocker. Then when it was time for bed, they opened up the sofa for our grandson and our son was more comfortable on the dinette (he is 6'1"). It all worked out.
Both units are nice. I'm sure you will probably get a little more comfort out of the larger unit. I'd rather sleep in comfort. We don't spend a lot of time in our unit other than inclement weather. And you can always lounge on the table either up or down.

I hear ya! I'm the same way. My 26 footer does us just fine. It meets our needs. We don't need "too" much, but like you a walk around bed became pretty important.
How big is your old trailer and how big is the new one? slides?? I never even bothered with slides. We just haven't found it thatnecessary.
with ya, jay...former was a puma 19FS/'new' (barely used 11) is a puma 25BH...like you, see no need for slides at this point...not ruling 'em out forever, but really don't need the weight, expense, and possible mechanical issues at this point...the RV is a place to sleep and eat, not to veg out all day watching television
