Hi all, I've talked to folks who get a Wireless Verizon disount if they:

Work for the state
Work at a school dept.
Work at multiple big corps. ie: IBM
Veterans

My question is, what about us regular poor slobs??

Anyone know of a "good guy" discount?? lol

I guess I'm a really poor slob, my car, truck and 5vr are all older than your vehicles, BUT, I do get 20% discount from Verizon. Verizon must have felt I needed it more than you.

Yeah, it sucks us "Normal" folks have to pay full price. Vets I can see the rest NO WAY.

It's called volume discount - or something like that. Verizon has big contracts with these employers and can afford to offer discount to the employees. Nothing wrong with that.

Maybe op needs to tell Verizon every possible reason he should get a discount, he may hit on one they bite on.

I seem to recall reading that FMCA members get a 10% discount. I also keep forgetting to pursue that, being a Version Customer and FMCA member. Mental notes don't stick so well at my age.

Verizon gives volume discounts to certain groups as an "edge" to gain more business. Seems that here in Michigan, every "new car ad" on TV has a disclaimer that the "employee discount applies" It's not just Verizon that gives discounts to specific groups. Ford, GM, Chrysler, Delta, Walmart, ACE Hardware, etc,,, they all have discounts for some groups. Seems it's a way of life in the marketing strategy lifestyle big business lives in...

Am I for it? If I get the product I need cheaper, heck yeah, if I am excluded from the discounts, well, I'd be more inclined to shop around (or raise hell till I got a discount)

Works when buying Fords....

I finally read my renewal for our Farm Bureau membership ($15 a year with no requirements to be a farmer) and they have a 17% discount at Verizon. Didn't know that either.

At the present time, there is no discount for FMCA members.
