How does one identify if a used 5th wheel has a Lippert frame. Is there a easy way to tell?

My 5ers have all had a tag near or on the side of the hitch with the mfgr name and serial # of the frame. Craig

Do you mean the pin box? That is who manufacturered the pin box--not the frame.

I don't think there is an easy way to tell who built the frame. Probably have to now what frame the RV manufacturer used.

Yep, actually drove to all of these places---in the last eight years. Missed Rhode Island and New Jersey.

On all the 5ths I had, the manufacturer of the frame also made and attached the pin box.

I had a lippert frame with Mor Ride pin box. Ck and see what the manufacture uses. About the only sure way. however Lippert does make a pin box too that goes with their frame.

Lay under the trailer and look around for the nasty, incomplete frame 'welds'. Shouldn't take long to find them...

Does it have cracks or broken welds? If so it is most likely Lippert! Chris

The builder plate should be on the frame =above= the pin box bolts. The pin box should have its own builder plate or stamp, no matter who built it.

Get the trailer VIN and date of manufacture...call Mfg. and find out who made their frames during that time period.

Some Mfg. have used different frame vendors over time, so what they are using now may not be what they used then.
