I have a Folbot cooper 16' 6" Kayak folds up into a backpack. No more climbing up on the roof struggling by myself. Folbot makes many sizes and have a lifetime warranty I love mine. I used yakima racks on mine sorry no pics but they worked ok just a pain loading and unloading by myself.

suds...I am confused...do you use a thule/yak bar with those feet?
I already have (a collection) of bars...so I can just purchase those pivoting feet?
Sounds too easy?!

I bought a trailer from Yakima to transport sea kayaks - one 17 foot single and one 22 foot tandem - both homebuilt from kits by Chesapeake Light Craft. The trailer can carry at least 4 kayaks - or 2 kayaks and 2 bicycles - or various other mixes. Should have done it years ago - much easier than wrestling the boats up onto the camper roof. the drawback of course is that now I'm pulling a trailer with all that entails.

I just checked this trailer out. Spendy!! Do you think a 10ft trailer with mods would be easier?

X3 on folding yaks - I have a well worn Fujita 480. The case can be made that a folder is actually more seaworthy in lumpy water than plastic/composite boats. They are much closer to having the qualities of the original millennially proven design which is a quality I enjoy. I also had an Advanced Elements at one time - its a very well made boat and a good choice for calmer waters and more casual use.

I have to agree. I (like FlyFisher) have been partial to Folbot folding yaks. This is the Folbor Greenland II rig (with sail rig) I used to kayak 700 kilometers of Central America with (pictured on the Caribbean coast, near Nicaragua frontier):

Ocean-going, it was smooth sailing. However, is not back-packable (Like FlyFisher's unit), however it fits into a large suitcase +1 smaller easily stored on the rear seat of your truck, in a helicopter, in a small pop-up camper, or, like I prefer, in a Short Brothers 360-100 (Shorts) aircraft
