Last year with all the construction and limited signage I missed the Waco turn onto us 77. Looking at map quest it looks like I might have a better shot at BR 77 on the North side. Or is there a better place to catch 77 South?

I don't know what BR is but if you want to catch US 77 south and miss the first exit from I35 going south you can always exit Loop 340/Texas 6 and go east to hit 77 again.
What are you referring to with BR ??

You’re right about missing the correct exit. Did it myself last spring, just wasn’t watching what I was doing. In answer to you question, I’d personally stay away from Bus 77 due to traffic and very ill timed traffic lights.

Headed south on I-35, take the TX Hwy 6 or Loop 340 exit on the south side of Waco. That will be exit 331. After exiting, you’ll see another sign that says TX Hwy 6 (loop 340) East, take that route. Also, IIRC you’ll cross under Hwy 6 and clover loop right, then back around to the eastbound level on Hwy 6. Once you're headed east, you'll come to another exit a mile or so down the road that indicates Robinson Dr., which is also US Hwy 77 South, it exits to the right.

That exit and intersection is still under construction and somewhat confusing. It’s also a multi-level traffic exchange (three IIRC) and not all the signs have been put up. The saving grace is that the exchange is a 360 degree return in all four directions, if you miss your turn you can continue around the clover leaf until you get back to the correct direction.

Hope this helps.
