I am thinking about dry camping at the BigE in Springfield, MA and have some questions for anyone who has done it. I have a 41' motorhome with 4 slideouts, can they accommadated a rig of this size? I only plan on staying two nights before moving on to my next destination, how hard is it to get in and out of this parking lot in the middle of the event?
They only have so many spaces, first come first served. I'd get there early for ease of in and out. But unless you're trying to get in on a Saturday or Sunday, it's not normally that crowded.
They charge you $20 per space, so if you use two spaces, either for a tow vehicle or slideouts, you'll pay extra.
You can go back and forth to your camper by just having your hand stamped.
Enjoy your visit!

We are heading up Friday for two nights and I have a question for anyone who has camped at the big e parking lot. Are you allowed to run your generator at night?

Just got back from camping at the big e and then Fryeburg Fair. I definitely would like to go back to the big e but not sure I will ever camp there again. When we pulled in, there was a diesel pusher stuck in the mud in the area they park RV's. I was then informed that another was just pulled out at a cost of $500. The attendants parked us in a row where cars were also parking in between us. It rained all night and all I heard was cars getting stuck, trucks pulling tow behinds and fifthwheels getting stuck and others horsing around spinning doughnuts in the mud. When I woke up and went outside, it looked like a grass island with about 15 campers on it surrounded by a giant mud bog. I asked the staff if I could move to higher ground since it was suppose to rain all day again and they told me to either stay put of leave. They also said that it was so bad that they hoped no other campers showed up. Well, I made it out of there with my rear tires slipping all the way and I headed up to new hampshire a day early.
Sorry to hear that your experience wasn't so good. We have been staying there for 20 years or so. It can get a litle noisy for an hour or so after the place closes, but we've been pretty lucky. We were there the last weekend (9/30-10/2). It did rain a lot and it was the muddiest I'd ever seen it. We got lucky to be down where most of the RV's were. If this was your first trip, I'd give it another shot. I think it was a little harder on the parking attenedents too because they were a bit crankier than usual.

We have camped there multiple times and never had a problem. There are years that are a little wetter, but parking staff do there best to avoid those areas.. Camping there in your RV is the only way to really enjoy the Big E... Plan on attending again this year!!
