When my steps come in or go out, they don't stop when they should and bang 3 times before stopping. When the do stop, they are in the correct position, whether in or out. Is this a sensor that tells them when they are all in/out? Is there an adjuster that needs to be reset?

As I understand step operation, they extend or retract until full limit is reached and the voltage draw on the motor begins to rise. The controller senses that rise and stops the travel readying it for the next call to operate.
Possibly yours simply needs a bit of lubrication to keep it from bumping along.
I'm sure the correct answer is out there somewhere. Perhaps with the next post. Who knows..
I just fought the same issue with my steps, I have the C&S Coach Steps, the bushings in the motor were bad. Replacement bushings for an automobile power window are available for about 10 bucks, I replaced ths bushings and they worked correctly for about a day then back the same old way (I didn't set the bushings correctly), I was able to get a new power window motor for $50 bucks so I just replaced the motor now I'm good to go.
