I bought a new sewage hose which appeared to be really heavy duty. The hose is close to rubber and is a very heavy wall thickness. You can stand on it and crush it flat without damaging its spape. It uses bayonet couplings of what look like quality design. I've used it for a couple of months. I've had issues getting it into the Newmar hose carrier tube as it wants to spring out. After a while it seems to relax and allow the hose door to shut.
Now it has developed an issue. It leaks from the coach connector end, where the plastic four lug piece grabs the four lugs. Looking art it, I see nothing wrong, but the sewage leaks by the seal that contacts the end of the adaptor. So, I looked up any issues people have had with them on the net.
Hmmmmmm...........Seems it has been a problem for ours too. They said they contacted Tetford and got no help only that they would have to buy another costly adaptor. The seal on this appears to become compressed in time and leaks.
Anyway, if you are thinking of getting one, be aware of this. I'm going to check out what I can do, and if I solve it, I will report back.

Have you tried putting some silicone grease on the gasket? Might be enough to seal it....I have one, but have not used it yet. Thanks for the heads up.

Yes, I cleaned the seal and looked to see if anything appeared wrong. When you install it on the four lugs you can feel it is not tight seated. The seal has become somewhat compressed, and in two months. That's why I did an internet search, to see if maybe there was a fix. Others had the issue also and got zero help from Tetford.

Hi,
Go to a small printing shop that still does traditional printing. As them to sell you some rubber rejuvenatory. Bring a glass baby food jar.
Apply a few drops and use a disposable bristle brush to spread it around the offending seal.

In as much as I've only had it two months, it should not fail in that short a time. Apparently I'm not alone. I'm considering cutting the hose (Though I hate to cut such a great quality hose) and installing a standard four hook adaptor.

Certainly a great suggestion, but I shouldn't have to resort to this after paying about $100 for it two months ago. Additionally it would require constant repair. Thanks though for the geat idea.

I bought the set up at the FMCA show in Albuquerque about 17 months ago. So far no leaks and it's working fine. My friend bought one too for his CC Inspire and the coach attachment was too long for it to work for him, so it doesn't work on all coaches.
