They are guests and you should treat them as equals...

So, at some time during the weekend, you should pop into their tent and let one rip.

That way no one has any grudges about that nasty funk that was left in the other's living space.

So I say think about this first, do you enjoy their company? If you don't want them to go with you anymore then by all means tell them to use the campground restrooms. I would never tell my brother he couldn't use my restroom or anything else I own. I value family more than that.

I even let the "Tent People" sit under my awning as well.

It's family.......not some stranger.

Do you let your brother & his GF use the facilities at your house?

Why is it when an 'RV' is part of the question....regular, common sense approaches go out the window....

My RV is my 'home' and I guess I look at things from that perspective.....if I have welcomed you into my home then you are....well 'Welcome'

I've gone camping where 15 or so friends of my daughter have gone along. We go to private property that is in the family so the only facilities available are our camper. We consider it no big deal and my daughters love the trips.

No wonder people think that those who own MH's, TT, 5ers or elitist. If I have guests with us an they need to use the facility, they are welcome. Only exception is after lights out.

While my RV is more a cottage on wheels and not our only home I have to agree...if I have welcomed you into my cottage then you are...well, "welcome"!!!

A few years ago while we were snowbirding in AZ our adult son flew out to spend a few days with us. As far as I know he never used our trailer restroom. He always used the park facilities even after we told him to use ours.

Ahhh, yet another touchy subject, thats sure to (and already has) brought out several strong opinions on both sides.

I tend to agree that generally, you don't want anyone else using your RV's bathroom if you can avoid it. HOWEVER, this is family, that you invited along. In that case, it would be really wrong to not let them use it at all. Like already said, if you took that approach, there's a good chance this would be the last time they'd want to camp with you.

I think I'd take the approach of not coming out and offering to let them use it, but at the same time, if they asked, I'd say yes and let them use it. Only 2 stipulations, like already said:

1. Don't come knocking on my door after dark waking up my children to use it. They can use the CG facilities then. Daytime use only.

2. If I don't have FHU, then the situation is entirely different, and nobody is going to use it but me, DW, and my children. Black tank has to last entire trip before emptying in that case, which means I don't want to have to account for anyone else's 'stuff' in the black tank, hahaha.

I am the OP and this is more of a touchy subject than I thought!

This is my brother-in-law so I would not and could not say no to using our bathroom unless a baby is asleep inside, in which case I know they would not ask. I would not and could not say no to friends or family that went camping with us or even just came to visit.

We camp quite a bit, but usually only for the weekend, and people come visit and go in an out of our FW pretty constantly. Again, I would never say "Don't go in there", but the thing that can get to me is the mess that is left afterward. My wife and I keep things neat and clean, then people come over, and it is a mess. We don't complain of course, because we would rather have them there and have a great time than be alone with a clean FW!

So moral of the story is that I would never say no you can't use the bathroom and I guess I should have posted that in the beginning. But I wanted to see how other people feel.
