It goes back to it's middle position. Push the bottom to turn the 12v off and push the top to turn the 12v on.

That is a 12 volt disconnect. Toggle it to store rather than use and then see if anything on 12 volts, such as lights, works. A click is about all you get in one of these. There is no other indication other than some have a small red light as an indicator.

If it will not re engage you may have a bad battery isolation relay. This is what you hear clicking when you press the switch....

You may want to check and see if the switch is bad, I have had to replace mine. I had shut off the 12 volt at the switch, and I could not get it to come back on. I replaced the switch and so far so good.

That switch doesn't stay engaged.
That switch operates a heavy duty relay that latches to turn on the 12 volts.
When you push the switch down it unlatches the heavy duty relay and opens the 12 volts.
The switch is a momentary contact switch so it returns to the center position.

My coach has an on off switch by the steps for the 12 volt power. I had the same problem and there is a relay or solonoid in the rear electrical panel on the right side of the coach that was the problem. When I operated the switch it would just make a loud click in the elect. compartment. I first replaced the switch thinking that was the problem. So if it is not your switch it will be that relay. I was told it is a common problem with these things. Your switch may be different than mine so I would check that first. Good luck.

I have an intelletec battery control system.. Like you I have a switch just inside the door (2 of them in fact, one turns the voltmeter on if I press it, that's all, don't matter if I go UP or Down, it turns on the volt meter next to it, the other works as you describe)

The switches are DP3T 3-position on/off/on spring loaded return to center

The solenoid that actually connects or disconnects the battery is a "latching" type (magnetic latch) When I press the USE/STORE switch one way it causes current to flow one way in the solenoid, This "Switches" the think "ON" and a magnet holds it there.. Pressing the switch the other way causes current to flow the other way and another magnet latches it "OFF".

Sounds like you have the same system.

My switch is just like a light switch it is either on or off. They are very cheap switches and can fail. Sometimes I have to flip it several times to work. I also replaced it one time and now carry a spare.
