The freezer is cold like the fridge should be and fridge is doing nothing. Freezer wont freeze anything like it should but will keep things nice and cold. So I guess freezer isn't working properly either.

Do a search on here for "thermister". That is the control for the cooling level in the fridge section. It will be on the wall at back of the fridge and is adjustable up and down to control the cooling level in the fridge.

Have you tried it for a day with Gas instead of electric to see if there is any difference?

The class c mh is an 85. I have checked it on both electric and gas, it does the same on both. Also I have the dial on colder in back of fridge. I talked to an rv dealer today and the told me the cooling system is bad and needs replacing. If this is true that is an expensive cost repair.

If you haven't, look RVMobile up. To answer your question....
Yes, IF the fridge needs a Cooling Unit, it's what I'd call an expensive repair.
Second IF is this...
IF it in fact needs a cooling unit, is that ALL that fridge needs to perform like new for several years? That answer is often No, or Not Sure. You can look up the cooling unit for your Make/Model and price it. Then the question is installation. Many RV owners have done it, and often right inside the coach.
But you really need to be sure ONLY the cooling unit is bad. Not many of us would replace one in that old a fridge.
On the other hand, there are some who have a coach with a fridge that old still running on the original cooling unit.

Our 1986 was doing the same thing. Called one refrigerator repair place and they laughed at the idea of fixing something that old said the units from that era were not any good even when new and it sounded like it would need a new cooling unit. Contacted another service man said the opposite put a new board in the unit and works great. IMHO if you call service people ask how long they have been doing this service because you need someone who has experience working on the older units plus they might have the parts you need on hand that might not be available any where else.
