per my instructions that came with my 32 inch vizio lcd tv e320va that does not have a set of separate yellow red white input connectors
"you can use your hdtv component input to accept A/V(composite)from a source with A/V out(in this case your sat reciever). please plug your video signal(yellow connector) into the component input(green connector) and match up the audio connectors(left is white connector and red is an right connector) for the sound..expect to see a black/white video in the component input if its selected by accident"
if im reading your original post correctly, your trying to get standard composite (Y,r,b connectors) to connect to component
betcha an internet dollar this i what your looking for(instruction wise)
there is no need to buy anything adaptor wise unless you want to throw money away and if you do, ill just send ya my addy
here is the image

yellow goes in the green connector with the Y under it...audio in is straight forward
and explains how the kids hooked up the Xbox360 and then a DVD player to this tv with the standard Y(video) and r and b(audio) off the xbox and DVD player

This is what you need and it will be upconverted to 1080P and is HDCP compliant. Very expensive for what it's doing at 300 bucks and I suggest just upgrading SATV box.
There are many more in Pro AV industry but these guys are probably the cheapest while making a good product.

Thanks for all the input. I went back to the specs and found they use the green component plug for the composite video (yellow) input.

The 42" LG HDTV I just bought 2 months ago has 3 HDMI, 2 component, and two composite inputs so there are newer TVs out there, but they are getting harder to find.
I ran into this same issue since my 1990's Sony Sat2 Satellite box only has composite output and inputs. Also, I tried to use the HDMI TV input for my Panasonic DVD/VCR recorder and found out that when I turned the TV on it automatically turned the DVD/VCR recorder on and would negate any programming. Thus I had to revert back to component connections between those two.

built in scaler spits out 1080P signal receiving TV or display recognizes it as 1080P during EDID (oops I meant TMDS)translation, if it was 480 then the display would show 1.33/1 or 4:3 aspect ratio. I do like AJA. TV One makes a good product and then there's trusty old Extron.
AJA is expensive and a great product.
Check out Miranda also.

I won't use AJA just because I won't pay $50 for a wall wort the others supply for free. We also had issues with AJA HD>HDMI not liking Evertz VIP jitter, so we want to Black Magic.. So far so good. I thought it was EDID, but I'm not the protocol guy If AFD was a reality that's all one would need.
