Since my new Lance will have a slide and I have never had a rv with such, I notice CW offers a slide stabilizer. Are these needed and do the members here recommend them? They have free shipping this weekend only. My slide is 36" out and about 72" wide. They come 2 to a box and seem like a good idea.

Don't know about yours, but when I went through the pdi with our new camper I asked that question and was told that using them would void the warranty. That might be a question for your dealer.

I talked to a local dealer about them. This is the place that would make money if I bought some. They told me, that if the rest of the camper settled with a slide support down that it could damage the slide and/or its mechanism.

Read the manual that comes with your new trailer....I'll bet you that it addresses this issue and that it strongly advises against them....

The slide in your new trailer is more than strong enough to support itself..
Enjoy your new rig.

Ditto... If the trailer settles or shifts, particularly with a mechanical rack and pinion slide drive, it doesn't take a lot of upward pressure to lift the rack off the pinion by a tooth or two...even one tooth can adversely affect the opening and closing of some slides.

My 2 cents, your mileage may vary...

Was told the same thing at last weekend's RV show. Instead of a support for the slide, I'd go for a slide awning cover instead.
