In your description of your test procedure I notice you didn't mention pushing the test button. With mine, before you plug the unit in at all either to the signal box or 12v yet your toad set up, neutral, key in the right position, etc. Plug in the Data cord, plug in the 12v cord, compressor will run, push test button. It will pump 3 times and you will get a green light. The order seems very important, and if it is hooked up and I do something with the key it will act up sometimes, no idea why. Other than a couple of times it has worked fine in the five years I've been using it.

I went thru several test procedures with Roadmaster Technical service yesterday. They're sending me a new unit.
See you down the road!

We have and are using the Evenbrake for quite a while now and are very happy with it.The only problem we ever had was running the toad engine after evenbrake was installed. This caused a momentary brake lockup at the first stop street.I now know you must run a test after running the engine to release the built up engine vacuum.

Go to Night Shift Auto (NSA) and order the ReadyBrake kit.
It is a little over $400. A little over $500 if you get the accessories to go with it. It will work with your existing towbar.
IMO, it is the ONLY supplemental braking system that makes sense!
I so desperately want to ditch my BB.
Tried looking up ReadyBrake and I am not sure which one can be used with blue ox tow bar. I'd like not to have to buy another tow bar.
Is THIS what you are talking about?

I had Roadmaster send the replacement Evenbrake to my next stop. I've been delayed so have not gotten it yet. I will update with results asap.

Replacement EvenBrake was waiting for me at my destination, I haven't towed with it yet, but it powers up and passes the self test. It looks as is all is well. For $1000 it should have worked out of the box, but stuff happens and I have to give Roadmaster tech support credit for not messing around and sending me a new unit right away.

Mowertech is right,Ready Brake-Ready Brute is the only system that makes sense. No electronics to fail,no hydraulics,no air lines to hook up or fail. Why would any one want to spend an extra $1000. on something that has a high failure rate?
