Finally, got out for a real live boondock trip with my setup (see HERE)!! DW and I did a test run a month ago which went well (HERE). First victim was Point Magu State Beach (Thornhill Broome).

This was a relatively primitive campground. There was water and some porta-potties but that was it. Power usage ended up being a bit more than the previous overnighter but still well under my projections. Watching TV via the inverter was the largest power drain. We watched about 3 hrs the 1st day, 4 hrs the 2nd day and 2 on the last. It was a mix of pre-recorded shows on DVD and sat. Overall usage was as follows:
1. Left home at 12.81V which is 100% SOC for us (98F/37C). Arrived 3 pm-ish on Fri (79F/26C).
2. Sat morning at 12.75V, 95.6% SOC and -45.1 Ah (64F/18C).
3. Sun morning at 12.65V, 87.6% SOC and -125 Ah (62F/17C).
4. Arrived at home ~2:30 at 12.63V, 85.2% SOC, and -148 Ah (88F/31C).
All the numbers are taken directly from my Victron battery monitor. Because of the wildly varying temps between here and the beach, verifying the SOC on the meter was impossible for me. If I went by voltage using Trojan's chart, the ending SOC would be 90% which I know isn't right because they consider 12.73V 100%. Using the Ah removed would put me at 80% which isn't right either because the battery capacity changed during our 2.5 hr drive home. Maybe next time I'll take the hydrometer.

That's the best way to camp. Shouldn't your camper charge from the truck driving home?

The truck is supposed to be charging but it's not working. Apparently I only need a fuse and there's one installed but I just haven't troubleshot it yet. It would be nice to have it working if only to arrive at the campground at 100% SOC. Even with it not working, I'm only out a few Ah.

For what it's worth, Ford takes both a fuse and a relay.

From your Sunday morning figure, it looks like you use about 8% a day. At that rate, you could do a week without the genny.
Peukert is your friend. Capacity is king!

Since you do not have any issues leave the hydrometer at home.
