That is impressively little electrical consumption for a 26 inch TV.
I got a little perturbed at the buzzing speakers of my new TV today. So I voided the warranty, punched a hole in the (quality inspected sticker) over one of the screws, took it apart, tightened the screws holding down the speakers, and no more buzz. Great quality control they have over there.
My old TV, and this new one, draw ~0.1 amps when they have power but are turned off, so they can respond to the power button on the remote. On my old TV it was easy to unplug the power cord. This new TV, I am putting on a switch to nullify this load when the TV is off.
Mena, are you converting to watts from your trimetric? Or are your running it through a Kill a watt or similar?

Mena,
I'd be interested to see if an SD DVD draws any less power. There should be a little less processing (presumably,) but my guess is there won't be much of a difference via the same device. And if you have a basic, SD DVD player, I would be interested to see your power results on that too. You know... if you need a project to satiate your geek-thirst today.
Cheers,
Kendall

Is that 22w with the room lights high or low? That Tv has one of those light adjusting sensors. If the room is dark, you get really low TV watts compared with room lights on.

That's an important question, B.
But, of course... mena has football plans and such. From what I gathered, much of his TV time could be during the day.

That's a neat feature! Didn't know it had that. The lights at 22W were pretty bright. It was in my office, no dimmer there. The 20W reading was in the family room but the lights were still bright plus I had the hallway light on too (so I could see behind the TV easier).
The majority of the TV time is in the morning and evening (basically during breakfast and dinner).

I can get my bedroom pretty dark even during the day. I'll try it there and report back.

OK. New deadline is mid-afternoon today, then.
We mid-level managers gotta' keep the pressure on you engineer-types.
And since you're already working on Sunday... I think you should have time to get me those TPS reports by tomorrow morning as well.

I decided to add another test. I have tons of light in my house so I decided to do a daylight test. 26.8W mostly but it varied from 26.7 to 27W. Dark test coming up.
