I have a 2011 24' TT that is about 8' wide. I have a storage spot that is 10' wide with another TT on one side of me. On the other side is a pole dividing the stalls. I got back yesterday from camping for the weekend with it and had a heck of a time backing it in to the stall. Any suggestions on ways to approach the stall for easier time backing it in?? There is stall across from me to so I CAN NOT pull in and straighten up to back it in. It's pretty much a jack knife job to back it in. Any help or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

I have to park my trailer on the side of my house. I have 10 feet. I have house and utilities on one side and a rock wall on the other. I do have a utility box thrown in there for added stress. I found this video and applied the technique...and it has worked for me! Maybe it will help you.

Good luck!

I suggest that you go down to the local walmart or other large parking areas and mark off a spot the same size as the garage and practice, practice, practice. You will develop your own procedure. You'll be surprised as how quickly you will find your technique.

Hope this helps

I front hitch for the TV might help for tighter maneuvering.

Akeru, I've watched that video before. I don't have enough room to "SCOOP" in towards my spot. There isn't enough room for me to straighten the TV and TT up to back it in from a more straight on position.

Another suggestion to spend time practicing backing. Until it comes as natural to you as driving forward it won't be as much fun as it could be. Much better to learn to back with proficiency than to use a front hitch. You may need to back up most ANYWHERE you go and can't always unhitch and turn around.

That "scoop" is just the first half of the "S" maneuver! If you do the "scoop" just turn back towards the other side so your trailer rear is pointed at the entrance to the site and your truck front is pointed at the site to the drivers left side. This will allow you to back in without having to have the truck and trailer lined up almost straight like he did in the video.

This works great in narrow streets or in campgrounds with other vehicles blocking your way in narrow roads.
See my post here for step by step instructions.

Have you ever seen these ad's that feature an electric type dolly that will maneuver trailers around? These are featured in many RV type magazines. Also some people have a ball type hitch mounted in the front of there TV just that purpose of parking their trailer.

I'm not sure how to explain this, but I find it easier (if possible) to approach the stall with the driver's side closest. then you can watch the obstruction (wall) either with the mirror or over the driver's side shoulder. Exactly how the video shows..

And practice practice practice..
