The main drain valve was closed and we assumed the water would go into the gray tank that was empty at the time. We were surprised when the water started running out of the washer drain. Fortunately, we were home in the trailer and caught it immediately and there was no damage.
How did you NOT see the message?
They probably do this to avoid filling the holding tank. Also, if it didnt drain (had a separate valve) you could easily overflow the drain if you forgot to open its drain valve.
This does limit its use to when you are with Full Hookups. But I dont think Id want it any other way.

Wow........
Washer draining directly into main drain line. Never would have thought it would be plumbed that way.
Mine (NUWA HH II) is plumbed to main grey tank (don't have washer/dryer...just the set-up)
Plumbed to main drain line.....sure adds a new meaning to 'self contained'

Question, If it is plumbed into the drain line, won't you get sewer gasses coming back up into the drain if you don't use it (to keep the trap full of water)?

Our washer also has a warning label that states that we must be connected to a sewer with the gray valve open to operate the washer. I can't say where it goes we have not used it,yet.

All "high end" DRV's go into the grey tank. I'm glad Bluefreight isn't a designer . Yea, your washer is open to the sewer directly, hope your clothes don't come out smelling a little funny.

Had the same "doesn't go into the tank" sticker by our W/D hookups. Well is does go into the grey tank. WARNING - don't forget to open the valves! We have a 45 gallon grey tank, forgot to open the valve, and next thing we knew water all over the place under the 5er. Blew out the top of the tank! Glad it was at the top as we were only 10 days into a 10 week trip to AK.
When we got back, used a plastic welder to fix the tank. Worked pretty good, but it still weeps a bit at the seam, so have a new tank on order.
Another note - when working on the tank and testing the fix, I was amazed at how the thing blew up like a balloon when full, especially with a head of water on it like when it backs up into the tub. After seeing that, we will be careful not to let tanks get overfilled. It puts a whole lot of stress on them.
