I can't imagine being able to take a shower without a fixed-head version of any shower head, in a TT. The hand-held with a good long hose is essential, IMHO.

I also cannot imagine trying to take a shower with the fixed shower head. Spend the extra money and get the hand held unit. Be aware that only the chrome and brushed nickel hand held units come with the water shut off valve. The white one does not.

Bucky Badger wrote: OK, I have one and it does have a cut off valve..You twist the collar at the bottom of the shower head. Are you other people sure you don't have one? If you don't I'd like to see a pic and see if it is different from ours.
Mine does have the twist collar at the bottom and does turn off 95% of the flow. However, try turning it back on when your hands are soapy....
The collar looks much like the rest of the shower head and if you didn't know it was a valve, you wouldn't think twice of trying to turn it.
I typically don't use the cut off valve, but we are always at full hookups so water usage isn't an issue.

My wife likes it so much that I had to get a second one for her home shower. She has a real thick head of hair and takes forever to rinse when not enough pressure. She had me take the one out of the trailer to try it on a regular house type setup and is even better. Works great for her in the house so now have one in each place.

I like the handheld unit.
First thing I did was get rid of the throttle valve and went to straight one off one. The throttle valve is too hard to use and does not shut off fully.
The on/off is the way to got...

I too find the twist shutoff a pain to use with soapy, wet, arthritic hands. I took off the twist shutoff, and screwed the hose directly to the shower head (however had to double washer that connection, don't do this at home). I bought a $4.00 shower shutoff at Home Cheapo and screwed it directly to the shower faucet.
